Burning Silhouettes

I did my best. Within my efforts, I burned everything away. The tears stopped days ago...
I begin to read between the lines, its only a figment of my regret.
I stand in my prophetic dream; as orange haze dances across my face. I stare into the distance at the trees, as they're burned to depris, along with everything and everyone I loved.
Rain trickles down the fibers of my clothes, washing away the masked face I desperately hid behind.
As the skies cry down, the embers finally die. Wind blows smoke and ash towards me.
I wait to greet it, hoping to disappear along with the grey cloud. It passes by, leaving me alone; with myself.
I had only done my best to save myself, sacrificing all that I love for the selfishness that is myself.
I should have let the fire burn me away with everything I loved. Now my eyes mirror the dullness of of what I see, and it fills me with pain that I just witnessed my loss of everything dear to my heart.
I suffer more than ever. The rain combines with the tears that reappear down my face.

...Next time I'll wait for the fire.

When it comes I'll stand in its silhouette as it burns me away, along with everything I loved.
All that I've lost will unite with me, and for a brief moment I will feel bliss. I will feel peace of mind.
As I'm whisked away given a second chance to reconvene with all I love, I wake up.

.

What would you do if you ran from a fire that had started in your home?

But when you stopped running you are mortified that no one else had escaped the fire you so desperately fled from.

Therefore abandoning your loved and watching them die down along with the flames.

Seeing is not what we view, but how we view what we see.
